In the business world, discussions frequently center on returns, acquisitions, and strategic objectives. But the most important investment is not always a financial one. Sometimes, it is trust given to someone at the very start of their career. This belief is deeply rooted in the management philosophy of BHM group, which consistently relies on a blend of senior expertise and the energy of young professionals.
Behind every well-managed fund or successful company, there are people — often very young people — who were given an opportunity before the market began to take them seriously. At BHM group, working with motivated graduates is considered one of the company’s most valuable assets. "We are not expecting newcomers to know everything from day one. What we’re looking for are individuals with curiosity, analytical thinking, and the courage to approach problems from new angles," explains Jan Černý, Managing Director at BHM group.
Filip Holubovský is a clear example. He joined the group five years ago, straight out of university as an Investment Analyst. Today, as an Investment Manager, he is responsible for developing several key portfolio companies. "After graduating from Tilburg University, I was considering a career abroad. But during a visit to Prague, I found out BHM group was expanding its team. Within a week of the first interview, I joined the company and almost immediately started working on real-life projects," Holubovský recalls. "The trust I was given from the very beginning was incredibly motivating. I never expected to be dealing with acquisitions and speaking with senior leadership so early in my career." According to Černý, this kind of trust is not an exception but an integral part of the company’s culture. "Young people bring energy and fresh ideas. When given the right space, they often exceed expectations."
Filip’s story is far from unique within BHM group. The company actively engages with young colleagues, entrusting them with meaningful responsibilities while expecting full commitment and a professional approach. "This isn’t about traditional mentoring. It’s about a genuine partnership. We learn from them as well — how they think, what motivates them, and what new approaches they bring into their work," Černý adds.
Holubovský agrees that practical experience has been essential. "University taught me how to structure information and think analytically. But BHM taught me how to apply those skills in the real world. To be hands-on, to focus on detail, and to make decisions quickly, even under pressure."
In a time when many graduates change jobs every two years, Holubovský’s long-term commitment to one employer stands out. "I feel a sense of purpose and growth here. I work with smart people who invest their trust in me, and I can see that it pays off for both sides. That motivates me to stay." For him, the greatest reward is having a real influence on how companies evolve. "Whether we’re solving operational issues or visiting production sites, my opinion is taken just as seriously as that of any other team member. That kind of responsibility will move you forward more than any university seminar ever could." Today, Holubovský is closely involved in one of BHM group’s key initiatives: developing Reinsberg Group into a European leader in medical equipment.
BHM group understands that when young talent is given room to grow, their potential turns into measurable performance. But just as important is the environment in which they grow. The company places strong emphasis on intergenerational collaboration. Younger colleagues bring new energy, while their more experienced counterparts share knowledge and perspective. The result is a workplace where innovation and experience complement each other rather than compete. Ultimately, in business as in life, one truth remains constant — those who can recognize potential in others are often the ones who achieve the greatest success. BHM group has embraced this philosophy, and its commitment to young talent is transforming not only individual careers but the identity of the organization itself. "We believe the best investments are those made in people," concludes Jan Černý. "When you give ambitious young professionals a chance and surround them with a strong, experienced team, they often deliver results that exceed even their own boldest expectations."
